Groundskeeper / Porter – Community Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Groundskeeper/Porter to maintain the appearance and safety of the Park Crossing community in Fairfield. The role supports the service team by keeping common areas clean, handling minor service requests, and ensuring all amenities meet Greystar’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the property throughout the day to remove litter, debris, pet waste and keep all common areas tidy.
• Clear trash from vacant units, transport it to dumpsters or storage areas, and maintain those storage spaces.
• Perform minor and routine service tasks as directed by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager and assist with unit turn‑around activities.
• Change locks according to policy and verify that pool gates and other safety features operate correctly.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report any hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions and address maintenance‑related complaints.
• Follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attend safety meetings and complete required OSHA training.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on the property.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, climbing ladders and carrying items.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
