Grounds Person (Full Time)

About the role

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, a luxury resort in Tucson's Catalina Foothills, is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Grounds Person to keep its outdoor spaces clean, safe and visually appealing. The role covers lawns, gardens, walkways and parking areas, from landscaping and seasonal maintenance to supporting outdoor event setups.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain outdoor grounds including lawns, gardens, walkways and parking areas
• Perform routine landscaping such as mowing, trimming, planting and weeding
• Monitor and maintain irrigation systems and outdoor lighting systems
• Inspect and repair outdoor fixtures, pathways and other property assets
• Clear snow, ice or debris from walkways in response to seasonal weather
• Assist with outdoor event setups (tables, chairs, equipment) and keep exterior entryways and public spaces tidy
• Maintain inventory of landscaping supplies and equipment, report hazards promptly and follow safety protocols
• Attend mandatory training and meetings, and work varying schedules as needed

Required profile

• Previous groundskeeping or landscaping experience in a hotel, resort or similar hospitality setting, preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Ability to walk and move for long periods, stand, work on ladders and lift, pull or push 50+ pounds regularly
• Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain or snow
• Regular attendance and willingness to perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

• Proven ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers
• Familiarity with irrigation systems, water conservation and seasonal weather challenges
• Knowledge of landscaping techniques and maintenance needs
• Attention to detail and strong organization and time management
