Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to lead, schedule and audit all operations across its 160-acre facility in Fort Gordon, Georgia. The supervisor handles resource allocation, enforces regional chemical timelines, manages fleet logistics and acts as the primary inspector for in-house crews and specialty subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Labor and route management: direct a multi-person crew across a weekly rotation that keeps landscaping work aligned with the Grounds Services Plan.
• Regional chemical compliance: schedule and verify chemical barrier windows based on Augusta soil temperature limits, develop and report pre-emergent, fertilizer and exterior pesticide applications, and prevent unauthorized chemical use.
• Subcontractor oversight: audit external landscaping contractors, review and approve Chemical Application Logs within 24 hours of treatment, and check wind thresholds (under 10 mph).
• Fleet asset control: deploy multi-deck machinery, run the Friday fleet overhaul, maintain parts inventory and equipment logs.
• Safety and compliance: enforce OSHA guidelines, chemical drift boundaries, heat index monitoring and tool inspection sheets.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in commercial grounds management, including at least 1-2 years in a leadership, foreman or supervisory capacity.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record; a Georgia commercial pesticide applicator license or immediate path to one is highly desired.
