About the role
Peraton is seeking a temporary Ground Station Monitor to support NASA's scientific balloon program at the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility in Palestine, Texas. The role involves 24/7 monitoring of ground station equipment during balloon missions, ensuring mission data is captured and reported accurately.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor ground station equipment throughout the duration of balloon missions.
- Report mission status according to documented procedures.
- Maintain required training qualifications and log real‑time and historical records.
- Work early‑morning or overnight shifts, starting on‑call and continuing for the length of each campaign.
Required profile
- High School diploma or GED.
- Strong computer knowledge.
- Detail‑oriented and organized.
- Ability to log real‑time and historical records accurately.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required training qualifications.
- Availability for early‑morning or overnight shift work.
Required skills
- Computer operation
