Graphic Designer, Merchandising

About the role

SpaceX is seeking a Graphic Designer, Merchandising to create and develop a range of merchandise for its online store. You will work closely with engineers and cross‑functional teams to deliver designs that excite customers and support the company’s mission of making life multiplanetary.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the merchandise team to design new products, using key company milestones to inform design strategy.
• Design customer gifting items such as mission patches, signing gifts, conference products and event‑specific gifts.
• Own the product design process from concept through production hand‑off, ensuring deadlines for product releases are met.
• Work with the customer team to create mission patches and provide multiple file formats for various use cases.
• Develop and maintain tech packs, fit charts, color standards and fabric specifications.
• Assist in creating graphics, typography and layouts for social, web and print assets.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
• Prepare final production files, including printer and vendor specifications, and contribute to the brand’s identity through merchandising.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in design or a related artistic field.
• 5+ years of experience in product, graphic and merchandise design.
• Impressive design portfolio showcasing merchandise and graphic work.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to thrive under deadline pressure.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with cross‑functional collaboration experience.
• Track record of successful design integration, feedback assimilation and on‑time delivery.
• Strong aesthetic sense; experience with fashion/apparel brands is a plus.
