About the role
The Department of Art, Theatre and Dance at West Texas A&M University seeks a Theater Facility Coordinator to oversee set construction, shop safety, and theatre maintenance throughout the production season.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and instruct safety protocols in the scene shop.
- Manage all aspects of set construction, including power‑tool use and welding.
- Oversee rental property both on‑ and off‑campus.
- Assist the technical director with purchasing and acquisition of materials.
- Attend department and program production meetings.
- Supervise student employees working in the scene shop.
Required profile
- High school diploma with at least three years of theatre shop management experience.
- Demonstrated background in theatrical construction and safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with student workers.
Required skills
- Set construction, power‑tool operation, welding.
- Knowledge of lighting and audio systems.
- Experience with CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser cutters.
- Budgeting and purchasing experience.
