Grants Manager

About the role

CAP Northwest, the oldest and largest AIDS Service Organization in Oregon and Southwest Washington, is hiring a Grants Manager for its Davis Street office in downtown Portland. The role secures and manages grant funding, mainly from private, community and corporate foundations, working with executive leadership, program teams, finance and communications. It is a full-time, day-shift position, Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, with at least three days a week in the office; occasional evenings and weekends may be needed to meet funders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to secure grant funding from private, community and corporate foundations.
• Work with leadership, programs and finance to identify funding needs, set priorities and develop project budgets.
• Research prospective funders and prepare proposals and budgets.
• Track grant opportunities, deadlines, award statuses and reporting requirements, and monitor revenue goals.
• Steward funder relationships and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
• Develop grant-related resources and support government grant applications as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in grants fundraising or proposal writing, or equivalent demonstrated experience combining writing, research and project management.
• Experience writing and managing complex six- and seven-figure grants for an organization with a seven- to eight-figure budget.
• Understanding of the Pacific Northwest regional foundation landscape.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, and to work independently and in teams.
