Grants Administrator

About the role

The Grants Administrator is a professional staff-level position in the Department of Pediatrics, providing leadership and expertise in grant and cost accounting processes, ensuring compliance with UAMS policies, state laws, and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full post‑award grant cycle, including award setup, financial reporting, invoicing, effort reporting, and closeout.
• Oversee payroll allocations, journal entries, accounting adjustments, and monthly reporting for the department.
• Collaborate with the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute, Grants Accounting Office, and administrators to manage grants and awards.
• Prepare and review complex documents, reports, and analyses to support compliance decisions.
• Lead advanced reporting for audits, financial compliance reviews, NSF surveys, and proposal development.
• Provide training and guidance to faculty, staff, and researchers on financial compliance and grant management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field with at least five years of finance experience, including one year as a Grants Administrator.
• Minimum three years of financial management of sponsored programs.
• Strong knowledge of federal grant regulations (2 CFR 200) and university policies.
• Preferred: Master’s degree, seven+ years of grants and cost accounting experience, RACC Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification.
