Grant Administrator II – Pre‑Award

About the role

The Grant Administrator II supports the preparation, submission, and compliance of grant proposals for faculty and staff at Tarleton State University. The position works on‑site at the Stephenville campus, providing essential coordination between investigators, sponsors, and post‑award teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist faculty with proposal preparation, budget development, and internal routing to meet sponsor deadlines.
• Review proposals for completeness, sponsor requirements, and university policies.
• Coordinate with post‑award financial specialists to ensure smooth transition from award to administration.
• Track submissions, maintain records, and provide compliance guidance to investigators.
• Serve as Campus Security Authority and act as liaison among faculty, sponsors, and research services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of grant/contract administration experience in a university or state agency, or three years as a Grants Administrator I within the TAMU System.
• Strong ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with diverse stakeholders.
