Graduate Intern - Engineer, ET Operational Standards

About the role

Dominion Energy is offering a graduate engineering internship within its Electric Transmission organization, in the Electric Transmission Operations Engineering Support Team. Working with a mentor, the intern learns the basics of large electrical equipment such as transformers, breakers, switches and instrument transformers, using technical resources such as IEEE standards, Excel and other Microsoft applications.

Key responsibilities

• Continue developing a post-event model verification program for FACTS devices.
• Produce proposals and recommendations supporting internal stakeholder collaboration and data exchange, helping the experienced FACTS team with ongoing initiatives.
• Participate in site walkdowns and assist with field initiatives under the guidance of experienced FACTS team members.
• Learn and embrace Dominion Energy's culture of safety, ethics and inclusion.

Required profile

• Graduate engineering student (Master's or PhD).
• ABET-accredited degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.

Required skills

• Knowledge of engineering theories, principles and practices across a broad range of assignments.
• Strong planning, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication, including technical writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and other Office 365 applications.
