About the role
The Graduate Academic Advisor IV supports graduate students and faculty within the Electrical Engineering department at Texas A&M Engineering. The role combines student advising, admissions coordination, and policy development to ensure a smooth academic experience.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the graduate program admissions process, including application processing and communication with applicants.
- Maintain and update student records in WebAdmit and Howdy, ensuring accurate documentation of enrollment, funding, and advisor assignments.
- Develop and distribute advising materials, organize events, and provide administrative support to the department.
- Analyze admissions data, generate reports, and design initiatives to improve the application workflow.
- Mentor advising staff, contribute to policy development, and assist student organizations as needed.
Required profile
- Experience in higher‑education advising or graduate program administration.
- Strong knowledge of university policies and graduate admissions procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, and prospective applicants.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficiency with WebAdmit and Howdy student information systems.
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
