GNC Intern – Fall 2026

About the role

Rendezvous Robotics is developing electromagnetic self‑assembling tiles for modular spacecraft. As a GNC Intern you will support the dynamics and control of reconfigurable spacecraft, creating models, algorithms, and simulations that will be tested on hardware and eventually in orbit.

Key responsibilities

• Develop physics models of electromagnetic docking dynamics.
• Support design of control algorithms for rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking.
• Work on attitude determination and control for individual tiles and the assembled vehicle.
• Assist trade studies and evaluate the tile sensor suite.
• Build simulation tools and dashboards to verify GNC algorithms before hardware testing.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics or related field with coursework in dynamics and controls.
• Understanding of rigid‑body dynamics and basic electromagnetics.
• Familiarity with orbital mechanics, reference frames, and version‑control systems is a plus.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• C++ programming.
• MATLAB/Simulink for simulation and analysis.
• Git version control.
