GIS Analyst / Engineer

About the role

Next Generation, Inc. is looking for an experienced GIS Analyst/Engineer to support the Enterprise Asset Management Value Realization Department. The role combines technical GIS development with analytical support for rail and transportation projects, and offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain custom GIS applications and tools for asset management and transportation systems.
• Perform geospatial and statistical analyses, integrating and transforming datasets to meet business needs.
• Design, test, and support ESRI GIS environments including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal, Server, Desktop, ArcPro, Experience Builder, and Survey123 Connect.
• Write and optimize Python and SQL code for data management, analytics, and automation.
• Create and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, and GIS maps.
• Ensure accuracy, documentation, and reproducibility of all GIS deliverables.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of custom GIS development and asset management experience.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on with ESRI GIS software, HeXagon, Microsoft Dynamics, SQL, and Python.
• Experience supporting railroad or transit industry projects is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Management, Statistics, Mathematics, or Transportation/Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
