General Warehouse Associate - Redi Carpet

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a General Warehouse Associate for its Redi Carpet business unit. The associate works across several departments of a distribution center, including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing and replenishment, and operates material handling equipment to move inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Use material handling equipment to locate and deliver products, supplies and equipment to designated areas.
• Assist with staging and loading orders into trucks for customer delivery.
• Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and distribution centers.
• Use packing list information to collect items for customer orders, including building and wrapping pallets.
• Inspect stock items for wear and defects and notify management of inventory issues.
• Return misplaced products to proper storage areas and maintain a clean workplace according to safety policies.
• Perform inventory control functions as needed and refer complex problems to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods and make repetitive movements.
• Ability to read written material; previous experience in multiple departments of a distribution center and operating material handling equipment preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred; generally 2-5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• No travel required.
