General Warehouse Associate (1pm Shift)

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a General Warehouse Associate for its distribution center, working the 1pm shift. The associate works across several departments including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing and replenishment, and operates material handling equipment to move inventory within the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Use material handling equipment to locate and deliver products, supplies and equipment to designated areas.
• Assist with staging and loading orders into trucks for customer delivery.
• Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and distribution centers.
• Use packing list information to collect items for customer orders, including building and wrapping pallets.
• Inspect stock items for wear and defects and notify management of inventory issues.
• Return misplaced products to their proper storage areas.
• Maintain a clean working environment in line with company safety policies and perform inventory control as needed.
• Refer complex or unusual problems to the supervisor and work under general supervision with regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Required profile

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods and make repetitive movements.
• Ability to read written material; previous experience in multiple departments of a distribution center and operating material handling equipment preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred; generally 2-5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• No travel required.
