General Surgeon (BC/BE) – West Bank Campus

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a board‑certified/board‑eligible General Surgeon to join its West Bank campus in Gretna. This clinic‑based position offers dedicated surgery days and access to advanced technology, including da Vinci Xi robotic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general and robotic surgical procedures on a dedicated schedule.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, dietitians, oncologists and nurse navigators to develop customized patient care plans.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record platform for documentation and coordination of care.
• Leverage ancillary services and an integrated practice model with a strong internal referral network.
• Provide support to and receive consultation from subspecialty experts across the Ochsner Health System.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in General Surgery (BC/BE).
• Medical license to practice in Louisiana.
• Experience with robotic surgery platforms preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with da Vinci Xi robotic surgery system.
• Experience using EPIC electronic medical record software.
