General Manager - Used Vehicle Sales

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring a General Manager for a used vehicle sales operation in Irving, Texas. The GM oversees the performance and profitability of the sales side, leads the sales team to meet and exceed targets, and handles hiring, performance management and customer issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Meet used vehicle sales quotas through leadership of the sales team
• Forecast sales, maintain proper inventory levels and set sales quotas for each representative with continuous feedback
• Hire, train and monitor team performance, resolve customer complaints and assist with deal closings
• Train the team on sales methods and on all vehicles and vehicle specifications
• Monitor and report sales metrics, and adjust inventory to optimize customer choice
• Promote the dealership, its values and its products, run advertising and promotional plans, and use e-commerce tools such as social media and listing services
• Finalize purchase, trade-in and sales agreements and contracts
• Support remarketing initiatives and work closely with the car rental facilities

Required profile

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in a retail car sales management position
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to manage and motivate staff, communicate with internal and external customers, and solve problems

Required skills

• General business knowledge and strong organizational and analytical skills
• Understanding of marketing programs, events and promotions
• Proficiency with computer applications, including social media and mobile apps
