Gas Field Technician I – Dallas/Fort Worth

About the role

The Gas Field Technician I joins Centric Services to ensure safe and efficient delivery of natural gas to residential and commercial customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This entry‑level, field‑based position provides on‑the‑job training through ride‑alongs and mentorship, with a path to obtain Operator Qualification certifications and advance to Field Technician II.

Key responsibilities

• Perform gas turn‑ons, turn‑offs, and transfer reads.
• Install, remove, and maintain residential meters, regulator sets, and marker posts.
• Conduct flow and lock operations, measure and build services, and program automated meter readers.
• Read meters manually or via radio, and respond to customer inquiries and emergency calls.
• Inspect, test pressure, and ensure integrity of gas lines and equipment.
• Use GIS systems to verify proper installation of service lines and mains.
• Maintain and safely operate the company service truck, keeping a clean driving record and up‑to‑date Smith certification.
• Coordinate with construction managers, city officials, and customers as a communication liaison.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn Centric’s procedures and obtain Operator Qualification certifications.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Up‑to‑date Smith certification for service‑truck operation.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance, and customer service.
