Full‑Time Pharmacist – Perioperative Care

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time staff pharmacist to join the peri‑operative pharmacy team at Texas Spine and Joint Hospital in Tyler. The role works rotating weekly shifts covering early mornings to evenings, Monday‑Friday, with one on‑call weekend per month. The pharmacist will ensure safe medication management for surgical patients.

Key responsibilities

• Verify, prepare, and dispense medications for surgical patients according to physician orders.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to optimise medication therapy throughout the peri‑operative period.
• Review medication orders for accuracy, potential interactions, and appropriate dosing.
• Maintain compliance with hospital safety standards, regulatory requirements, and pharmacy policies.
• Provide medication education to patients and staff.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, storage, and proper handling of sterile products.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of hospital pharmacy experience.
• ACPE‑certified IV sterile mixing qualification.
• Ability to work rotating weekly shifts (06:00‑19:30) Monday‑Friday and one on‑call weekend per month.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
