Full‑Time Case Management Nurse – FDNY WTC Health Program

About the role

The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is seeking a full‑time Case Management Nurse to support the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program. The nurse will manage a comprehensive case system for active and retired FDNY members, ensuring high‑quality clinical documentation and coordination of care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the case management system for WTC health program clients.
• Document client encounters, write nursing summaries, and track therapeutic progress.
• Collaborate with physicians to monitor treatment plans, report progress, and adjust care as needed.
• Coordinate initial assessments and ongoing reassessments of functional status.
• Participate in quality assurance, utilization review, and chart reviews.
• Perform blood draws and administer vaccinations as ordered.
• Collect and verify client data for reporting to NIOSH and other agencies.
• Conduct follow‑up interviews to address outstanding medical or mental‑health concerns.
• Work at alternate locations as required.

Required profile

• Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with at least 3 years of clinical experience, OR an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with at least 5 years of clinical experience.
• Experience in case management, occupational health, or similar nursing roles is preferred.
• Ability to work full‑time and travel to alternate sites.
