Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer (Patrol Driver)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time unarmed security officer in Chicago, Illinois. The role serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, including education, and involves routine patrols, a visible presence to deter security incidents and customer service with students, staff and visitors. It is a driving position that requires a valid driver's license.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and campus partners by carrying out security procedures, location-specific policies and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations calmly and professionally, following campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence-adjacent spaces, parking areas and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, facility concerns and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations and patrol activity accurately and share relevant information with Allied Universal leadership and campus representatives.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license in line with Allied Universal driver policy (required for driving positions only).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing requirements may apply before employment.
