Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer (Driver) - Customer Service Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time unarmed security officer in Chicago, Illinois. The role serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, including education, at a leading educational location. You will conduct routine patrols, keep a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. The driving position requires a valid driver's license.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and campus partners by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, campus concerns and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned academic buildings, residence areas, grounds, parking locations and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, access concerns, maintenance issues and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction and requests for assistance while maintaining a professional presence.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license in line with Allied Universal driver policy (required for driving positions only).
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required before employment.
