About the role
The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a full‑time UMH Teacher for the Infant Room. Working Monday through Friday from 11:45 AM to 7:45 PM at the UHealth Tower, you will design lesson plans, deliver classroom instruction, and assess student performance.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a syllabus and course materials before each term.
- Take daily attendance and follow up on absences to support retention.
- Deliver classroom instruction according to the schedule.
- Administer quizzes, tests, and weekly homework to evaluate learning.
- Prepare written evaluations and final grades for each student.
- Collaborate with teacher assistants on coursework and assignments.
- Follow university and unit policies and safeguard assets.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- Minimum two years of teaching or related experience.
- DCF 45‑hour Certification (Child Development Associate Credential or state‑approved equivalent).
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professional composure.
- Effective interpersonal and leadership abilities.
