Full-Time Security Officer - Gate Position

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Security Officer (Access Control Officer) in Kansas City, Missouri. The role serves and safeguards clients in logistics and distribution locations by managing entry points, verifying credentials and monitoring access activity so that employees, visitors and operations stay secure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, contractors and employees by following site-specific access-control procedures, policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized credentials, maintain visitor and contractor logs and direct people to check-in areas.
• Respond calmly to access-control concerns, incidents and critical situations, and report observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas and the facility perimeter.
• Document daily activities, access-control events, incidents and irregular conditions according to site reporting procedures.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment, subject to applicable laws.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state and local laws.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
