Full-Time Physical Therapist (Day Shift)

About the role

Ashe Memorial Hospital in West Jefferson, NC, is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist for its Rehabilitation Services department. The therapist evaluates and treats patients across the lifespan, develops and implements individualized care plans to improve mobility and function, and supervises Physical Therapist Assistants and rehabilitation support staff. The position is day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional weekend coverage as needed and no travel.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan, including pediatric through geriatric populations
• Develop, implement and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize outcomes
• Supervise and mentor PTAs and rehabilitation support staff
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with regulatory standards

Required profile

• Current North Carolina license as a Physical Therapist (or eligibility)
• Current CPR certification
• Pediatric and/or neurological rehabilitation experience preferred
• Compliance with hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening after the offer
