Full-Time Operating Room Registered Nurse

About the role

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides direct, evidence‑based patient care in a surgical setting at Stanford Health Care Tri‑Valley. This full‑time position requires at least one year of inpatient operating‑room experience and a commitment to high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients through interviews, history taking, and physical examinations, documenting findings accurately.
• Obtain and interpret screening data, determine nursing diagnoses, and develop individualized care plans.
• Perform and document nursing procedures in accordance with hospital standards and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
• Educate patients and families on self‑care, illness prevention, and post‑operative instructions.
• Monitor patients for adverse responses, report ethical or legal concerns, and complete incident reports as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and initiatives that support strategic goals.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum one year of experience in an inpatient operating‑room setting (excluding nursing school).
• Relevant departmental certification as required by the facility.
