Full Performance Truck Driver (TS/SCI Clearance Required)

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Full Performance truck driver who loads, drives and unloads trucks within the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA). The position requires an active Top Secret/SCI US Government clearance with polygraph, and US citizenship is required to maintain that clearance. It is an hourly, overtime-eligible position under the Service Contract Act, paid $34-$38 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Receive trip assignments and manifests, inspect the vehicle, check fluids and tire pressure, and record travel data in the driver's log.
• Load and unload trucks according to weight distribution guidelines, assist with loading backhaul cargo and confirm it matches the return manifest.
• Drive to delivery points, present access documentation, handle special-handling items and deliver material to customers in office settings.
• Pick up return deliveries, communicate with the dispatcher via laptop when outside the metro area, and complete trip accounting.
• Perform ad hoc warehouseman duties such as loading/unloading and moving materials between staging areas.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; US citizenship required to maintain it.
• One year of truck driving experience, including long-haul driving and heavy equipment trucks over 10,000 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Class A driver's license with HAZMAT, double-wide and triple-wide endorsements, a valid DOT medical physical and forklift certification.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in a warehouse environment with fumes, noise and dust; occasional extreme weather driving may be required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of safe operation of Class A vehicles and material handling equipment, including forklifts and box trucks.
• Knowledge of DOT hazardous materials regulations and loading dock safety procedures.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and understanding of the Working Capital Fund business structure.
• Excellent customer service, attention to detail and map-reading skills.
