Front End Supervisor

About the role

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, part of Meijer, is hiring a Front End Supervisor in Gahanna. The Coordinator team member oversees customer sales transactions at the front registers, keeps cash under control, ensures customer satisfaction and safeguards company assets. The role requires following all procedural guidelines and reliable, consistent attendance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure outstanding customer service through the checkout lanes, greet customers and respond promptly to their needs
• Oversee the accurate and efficient operation of all cash registers and handle payments by cash, check, credit card, gift card or automatic debit
• Scan items, enter PLU or UPC manually, and display purchase totals, tax and rebates on the register screen
• Maintain clean checkout areas free of personal items and complete all POS transactions
• Review customer surveys and feedback, and provide product advice to customers
• Prepare, package and stock merchandise, and comply with price-change, food safety and order compliance rules
• Keep products properly priced, remove out-of-code items and ensure signage complies with ad sets
• Use the production planner and fresh dashboard, and promote a safe work environment

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of related retail experience and one year of management experience
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus
• Ability to communicate clearly, resolve conflicts, manage multiple tasks and analyze financial and statistical information
• Ability to mentor team members, including hourly workers
• Successful completion of all required certifications

Required skills

• ServSafe certification
• Point of sale (POS) register operation
