About the role

The Freshman Admission Counselor supports Louisiana State University of Alexandria by processing applications, guiding prospective students, and representing the university at recruitment events.

Key responsibilities

• Process on‑campus and online first‑time freshman admission applications and determine admissibility.
• Review transcripts, test scores, and credit by examination; finalize admission decisions.
• Counsel prospective students on admission requirements, curricula, and program selection.
• Recruit prospective students at high schools and community events; assist with special campus events.
• Maintain accurate institutional data and perform other tasks assigned by enrollment leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to travel, including overnight trips, and work evenings or weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to represent the university positively.
