Assistant Professor of Kinesiology – Health & Physical Education

About the role

The Kinesiology Program at LSU Alexandria seeks an Assistant Professor to teach health and physical education for K‑12 education. This is a 9‑month, tenure‑track faculty position beginning January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate kinesiology courses, including core, coaching, and health & physical education classes.
• Collaborate with local school systems and community agencies.
• Engage in scholarly activities and professional development through research and organization membership.
• Participate in faculty governance, committees, student recruitment, and retention efforts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Health and Physical Education (or related field) with graduate coursework in the discipline.
• Evidence of collaboration with schools or community partners and use of technology in teaching.
• Demonstrated scholarly activity.

Required skills

• Effective use of educational technology for instruction and learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with external partners.
