About the role

Chaparral High School is seeking a dedicated French Teacher for the 2026‑2027 academic year. This full‑time position involves planning, delivering, and assessing French language instruction for secondary students while fostering a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons that promote active learning.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and appropriate instructional resources.
• Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare required reports.
• Manage classroom behavior, enforce school policies, and apply disciplinary measures when needed.
• Provide pastoral support, counseling, and encouragement to students facing academic challenges.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, department meetings, and parent‑teacher conferences.
• Stay current with developments in French language teaching and integrate relevant technology into instruction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Valid state teaching certification and single‑subject French credential.
• SEI endorsement and compliance with district and state teacher education requirements.
• Relevant teaching experience at the secondary level.
• Knowledge of educational technology and its application in the classroom.
