Freelance Copywriter (Part-Time Contract)

About the role

Everlane is looking for a freelance copywriter to support its day-to-day copy needs. This is a hands-on, independent role with real ownership of the copy customers see, covering performance marketing, email, product copy, promotions, naming, subject lines and preheaders. It is a part-time contract position of up to 20 hours per week, reporting to the Editorial Director.

Key responsibilities

• Write conversion-focused performance marketing copy for Meta, Google, TikTok and Pinterest
• Write outbound and email marketing copy
• Develop clear, compelling subject lines and preheaders
• Write promotional copy across email, site, paid media and other customer-facing channels
• Write and refine PDP copy, including product naming, one-liners and product descriptions
• Develop multiple copy options and adapt copy quickly to feedback, changing priorities or new offers
• Apply the established brand voice, terminology and copy standards
• Manage several assignments at once with minimal oversight, self-edit and proofread before submission

Required profile

• Excellent copywriting skills with a strong command of grammar, tone and clarity
• Proven experience writing conversion-focused performance marketing and email copy, including subject lines and preheaders
• PDP writing and product naming experience
• Experience writing promotional and offer-driven copy
• Experience writing for fashion, apparel or lifestyle brands strongly preferred
• Experience writing about sustainability, materials, sourcing or responsible production is a plus
• Ability to generate multiple strong variations quickly, learn an established voice and take ownership from brief to final copy
• Adaptable to frequent feedback and able to balance multiple deadlines

What we offer

• Compensation of $50-60 per hour, depending on background, experience and location
• Part-time role of up to 20 hours per week, based in the Los Angeles Creative Studio in the Arts District
• Hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office per week, Tuesdays through Thursdays
