Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Runlayer, you will own the technical side of customer GTM, running proofs of concept, troubleshooting integrations, and guiding enterprise customers to production deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Own POC outcomes for enterprise customers, ensuring successful delivery.
• Conduct pre‑sales technical deep dives, demos, and architecture discussions.
• Troubleshoot integrations across identity, security, and networking environments.
• Build custom configurations and one‑off solutions when standard paths don’t fit.
• Run technical onboarding sessions and adoption workshops.
• Serve as the technical expert during sales cycles, answering senior engineer questions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in forward‑deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or pre‑sales with strong technical depth.
• Ability to write and debug production code independently.
• Hands‑on experience building AI agents and discussing architecture, memory, and tool design.
• Executive presence to engage senior technical executives.
• High agency and ownership to deliver solutions end‑to‑end.
