Forward Deployed AI Engineer - Enterprise AI

About the role

Turing is hiring a Forward-Deployed AI Engineer for its Enterprise AI business unit, based in Los Angeles, CA. The role sits in the initial team of Forward-Deployed Engineers, who own outcomes end to end: from finding high-value customer problems and shaping architecture to building production systems and working directly with senior client leaders. The work is client-first and in-office, typically three to five days per week depending on client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to turn complex business needs into clear technical direction, defining the outcomes an AI solution should drive.
• Architect and build production AI systems, including multi-agent workflows, orchestration, tool use, context engineering, memory and state, RAG, APIs, data pipelines, integrations and distributed systems.
• Lead solutions from discovery through deployment, and own evaluation, observability, security, reliability, latency, scalability and cost.
• Help shape the way the team works, since Enterprise AI operates like a startup and there may be no established playbook yet.

Required profile

• Typically 8+ years of experience building and operating sophisticated software systems.
• Track record of taking complex systems from architecture through deployment and scale.
• Ability to earn trust quickly, navigate ambiguity and communicate with senior engineers and business executives.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and stay calm under pressure.

Required skills

• Python, backend systems, APIs, databases, distributed systems, system design and cloud infrastructure.
• Production LLM and agent systems built with orchestration, tool use, context engineering, memory and state, retrieval and multistep workflows.
