Director of Data Science & Analytics

About the role

Everlane is looking for a Director of Data Science & Analytics to lead a team that drives business growth by providing insights and analysis for critical decisions, building reporting, analytics and predictive models, and shaping the next generation of the company's data infrastructure. The role sits within the broader goal of turning data into actionable insights, predictive data products and self-service analytical tools, and it reports to the VP of Digital.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to deliver insights, analysis and recommendations.
• Own the data architecture and roadmap, planning the team's work independently.
• Research and promote new technologies, frameworks and approaches for customer data analysis, AB testing and machine learning.
• Apply causal research and explanatory modeling to understand customer behavior, marketing performance and site behavior.
• Deploy predictive models such as product recommendations, size predictions and predicted return rates.
• Design and run experiments to understand customer behavior.
• Scale the data platform with smarter, more sophisticated data.
• Oversee a team of data analysts, data scientists and data engineers, coaching direct reports and developing their skills.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree in business analysis, a quantitative or computing-focused degree.
• 7+ years of experience in retail/e-commerce or a B2C technology company.
• 5+ years of data technology experience (data collection, analysis, machine learning, statistical modeling).
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Ability to understand the business and give a firm point of view from both stakeholder and data perspectives.

Required skills

• R, Python or another suitable data science language.
• SQL.
• Strong fundamentals in statistics and probability, including formal statistical modeling and experimental design.

What we offer

• Full-time role in the Los Angeles Creative Studio in the Arts District, on a hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office per week (Tuesdays through Thursdays).
• Annual compensation range of $170,000 - $200,000, which may vary depending on skills, qualifications, experience and location.
