About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Food Service Worker for the Rockdale Regional Youth Development Center in Conyers. Under direct supervision, you will learn to prepare, heat, and finish cooking a variety of food items while providing friendly service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, heat, and finish cooking menu items according to recipes and safety standards.
• Serve meals and beverages to customers in a courteous manner.
• Receive cash payments, make change, and accurately record transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Assist with inventory receipt and basic stock rotation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn food‑service procedures.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
• Willingness to work day shifts and stand for extended periods.
