Food Service Supervisor – Loftiss RYDC

About the role

The Food Service Supervisor supports the Food Service Director in managing daily operations at the Loftiss Residential Youth Detention Center in Thomasville, GA. This position oversees staff, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintains quality food service for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily food service operations and supervise subordinate staff.
• Maintain ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification and ensure compliance with DPH, USDA, DOE, DJJ, ACA standards.
• Place weekly food orders, manage inventory, and oversee USDA commodity and DOD produce procurement.
• Review deliveries for quality, handle corrective actions, and prepare reports for audits.
• Provide training on sanitation, safety, and program compliance to all staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role.
• ServSafe Manager Certification.

Required skills

• Food Safety Management certification (ServSafe).
• Knowledge of governing bodies’ regulations (DPH, ACA, DOE, USDA, DJJ).
• Experience with large‑scale food service equipment and the National School Lunch Program.
