Food Service Coordinator / Cafe Chef, In School (No Nights/Weekends/Holidays)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, motivated Food Service Coordinator to join Red Rabbit’s in‑school culinary team in Brooklyn. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will act as the operational bridge between the kitchen staff and school partners, ensuring meals are prepared, portioned, and served safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily meal service, guaranteeing correct portion sizes, compliance with NSLP requirements, and timely delivery.
• Stage and present meals attractively while maintaining a clean, organized service line for a positive student dining experience.
• Monitor service operations, identify workflow issues, and work with the kitchen team to resolve same‑day challenges.
• Maintain precise meal counts, operational records, and required documentation in company systems; promptly flag any discrepancies.
• Support compliance with National School Lunch Program standards, company policies, and dietary accommodations, including allergy protocols.
• Serve as the primary liaison with school partners, communicating updates, addressing concerns, and keeping the Head Chef and District Manager informed.

Required profile
