Food Clerk

About the role

Meijer is looking for a Food Clerk in Ionia. The role provides customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude, and covers a range of retail tasks in product, customer service and merchandising. The position applies to the Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli and Grocery departments.

Key responsibilities

• Build rapport with customers and respond to their questions effectively.
• Display a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Stock product and keep displays up to standard according to merchandising guidelines.
• Use technology to complete tasks and follow safety and sanitation procedures.

Required profile

• Detail-oriented and organized, able to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong listening and communication skills, face-to-face and virtually.
• Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product, and to stand for long periods.
