Food & Beverage Trainee – Leadership Development Program

About the role

The Loews Leadership Development Program prepares graduates of accredited hospitality programs for their first leadership roles in hospitality. This F&B trainee position is an intensive, structured 12-month program within the Food & Beverage department of Loews Regency New York Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Participants rotate through key areas of the division and finish with the leadership skills needed to advance within the company.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through restaurants, in-room dining and banquets for about 6 months, learning operational procedures, best practices and departmental functions through direct involvement and observation.
• Attend workshops and training sessions focused on leadership and management.
• Work with managers and division leaders to gain insight into leadership and decision-making.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by understanding and addressing guest needs and concerns, and uphold company standards for guest satisfaction and service quality.
• Assess and reflect on personal performance and progress with regular mentor feedback.
• Collaborate with all Loews Hotels team members and build effective communication and teamwork.
• Progress through the program toward greater supervisory and leadership responsibilities.

Required profile

• College senior or recent college graduate of a hospitality program.
• Enthusiasm for hospitality, especially in the food and beverage sector.
• Eagerness to learn and improve leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to the Loews brand principles and service promise.
• Willingness to relocate, depending on program offerings.
