Floating Maintenance Technician - Kent & Tacoma

About the role

Greystar, a global real estate platform focused on institutional-quality rental housing, is hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician who floats between a portfolio in Kent and Tacoma. The technician performs technical and mechanical work so that the buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas of the property meet standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and repairs, including appliance repairs, and perform preventative maintenance
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in through the make-ready process, including punch lists, vendor scheduling and inspections
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior buildings and parking areas, and help with grounds, common areas and amenities
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment, and support vendor management
• Follow procedures for obtaining materials and supplies, and document service requests accurately
• Comply with safety policies, attend safety meetings, complete OSHA training and report incidents
• May inspect contractor work and assist in property inspections

Required profile

• Experience with painting, entry-level carpentry, appliance repair and basic plumbing
• Knowledge of safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools and mechanical equipment
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, lifting up to 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with help
• Valid driver's license to operate a golf cart where applicable
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Required skills

• Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
• EPA certification Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling (for certified service technicians)
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians
