Flight Software Manager

About the role

Reliable Robotics is developing safety‑critical aviation technology that will transform how goods and people move by air. As the Flight Software Manager you will lead the team that builds the embedded flight software that makes the aircraft fly safely and autonomously.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the safety‑critical flight software team, balancing rapid development with formal DO‑178C verification.
• Provide technical and architectural guidance for flight controls, redundancy management, and other flight software components.
• Collaborate with GNC, Avionics, Systems and Hardware leads to define roadmaps, manage priorities and unblock the team.
• Drive the maturation of engineering processes, ensuring certification‑ready software architecture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of real‑time embedded software development experience (C/C++).
• 3+ years in a technical leadership or people‑management role.
• Experience with complex hardware‑software systems, GNC algorithms, flight dynamics and state estimation.

Required skills

• C/C++ programming for real‑time embedded systems.
• Python for tooling, testing and data analysis.
• DO‑178C certification processes.
• Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) algorithm development.
• Fault‑tolerant system design and redundancy management.
• FPGA design experience.
