Flight Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for Flight Software Engineers to design, develop, integrate, and test high‑performance real‑time embedded software for advanced flight systems. This hands‑on position works closely with guidance‑navigation‑control (GNC), systems, and hardware teams in a safety‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test real‑time embedded flight software.
• Collaborate with GNC, systems, and hardware engineers.
• Maintain software for high‑reliability and safety‑critical applications.
• Support simulation, hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and flight testing.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis and debugging across software and system interfaces.
• Follow rigorous software lifecycle and configuration‑management practices.
• Contribute to verification, validation, tools, and engineering standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical/Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Active or eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.
• U.S. work authorization and compliance with export‑control requirements.
• Ability to work onsite in Torrance, CA.

Required skills

• Strong C/C++ programming experience.
• Experience with real‑time operating systems (RTOS).
• Understanding of hardware/software integration.
• Familiarity with simulation and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.
• Knowledge of GNC or control‑intensive applications.
• Experience with FPGA‑based systems and embedded optimization (preferred).
• Secure software development or cybersecurity awareness (preferred).
