Fleet Manager – Knoxville

About the role

Bird is seeking an entrepreneurial Fleet Manager to oversee the daily operations of its e‑scooter and e‑bike fleet in Knoxville, Tennessee. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for moving, charging, maintaining, and positioning vehicles to meet local demand and maximize revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Use your van or truck to collect, deploy, relocate, and retrieve e‑scooters and e‑bikes across the city each day.
• Perform timely repairs and routine maintenance to keep the fleet safe and compliant with brand standards.
• Manage the end‑to‑end operation of your assigned portfolio, ensuring vehicles are available in high‑demand areas.
• Problem‑solve in real time, prioritising tasks and navigating Knoxville’s geography efficiently.

Required profile

• Access to at least one large vehicle (van/truck) suitable for transporting multiple scooters or bikes.
• Access to a garage, warehouse, or commercial space with electricity for overnight charging (highly preferred).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or applicable commercial license) with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb repeatedly and stand, walk, bend, or stoop for long periods.
• Flexible schedule with willingness to work weekends regularly.
• Comfortable using mobile tools to locate and manage the fleet.
• Strong knowledge of Knoxville’s local geography.
