Financial Wellness Agent Associate – Family & Consumer Sciences Educator

About the role

The University of Maryland Extension seeks an Agent Associate to lead financial wellness initiatives within the Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) program. This 12‑month appointment will design, teach, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary educational programs that improve financial health for individuals, families, and communities in Charles County.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate financial literacy and well‑being programs based on community needs assessments.
• Develop workshops, seminars, webinars, and blended learning experiences for youth and adult audiences.
• Collaborate with FCS faculty, Extension Advisory Committee members, and county stakeholders to identify priority needs.
• Participate in statewide FCS Action Teams and contribute to county‑level health and well‑being education.
• Engage participants using learner‑centered and public‑health approaches to promote positive behavior change.
• Establish partnerships with schools, human service agencies, libraries, government bodies, and health coalitions to expand outreach and policy impact.
• Utilize educational materials from the University of Maryland and other reputable sources.
