Financial Services Analyst – Operations

About the role

The University of Maryland Division of Information Technology is seeking an experienced Financial Services Analyst to support the Assistant Vice President, the Finance team, and the broader division. The role focuses on financial tracking, reporting, budgeting, and operational support to ensure smooth financial and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain financial reports and dashboards.
• Develop, monitor, and reconcile budgets.
• Manage procurement and purchasing processes.
• Lead travel compliance activities for the division.
• Respond to internal and external financial inquiries.
• Support operational tasks related to finance and division services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of professional experience in budgeting, finance, or accounting.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and adapt to university policies.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Concur for travel expense management.
• Experience using Workday for financial processes.
