Financial Crimes Compliance Strategist

About the role

Ramp is looking for a Financial Crimes Compliance Strategist to join its AML and sanctions compliance team. You will lead investigations of escalated transaction‑monitoring alerts, prepare SARs/UARs, and help build AI‑enabled tools that scale the compliance program.

Key responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive investigations of escalated alerts and internal referrals, documenting risk conclusions and meeting regulatory reporting obligations.
• Draft and file SARs/UARs with clear, evidence‑based narratives while maintaining confidentiality.
• Conduct secondary and peer reviews to improve investigation quality and consistency.
• Identify and drive improvements to workflows, procedures, tooling, and training.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, Product, Engineering, Design, and Data teams to develop automation and AI‑enabled capabilities.
• Flex into other compliance areas such as sanctions, PEPs, and enhanced due diligence as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of BSA/AML advisory or operations experience, including at least 2 years in investigations.
• Proven track record drafting and filing SARs and recommending account actions.
• At least 1 year of conducting secondary or peer reviews of financial‑crimes investigations.
• Deep knowledge of money‑laundering and terrorist‑financing typologies.
• Experience improving compliance processes, controls, tooling, or training.

Required skills

• AI fluency – ability to design repeatable, validated AI‑assisted workflows with clear inputs, outputs, and review checkpoints.
• Fintech experience (preferred).
