Financial Clearance & Applications Specialist

About the role

Join Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Financial Clearance & Applications Specialist, where you will gather financial information, guide patients through financial assistance options, and support indigent parties in obtaining aid.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process Financial Assistance Program (FAP) requests according to LVHN policy, including approvals, denials, and pending decisions.
• Document patient accounts accurately with supporting details on financial assistance and responsibility.
• Maintain knowledge of federal guidelines to determine patient eligibility for FAP and ensure medical assistance screening.
• Determine patient responsibility on referred accounts and assess ability to pay before, during, or after services.
• Generate estimates, post payments, reconcile accounts, and produce weekly and monthly productivity reports.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years of experience in a customer‑oriented, patient registration, or insurance‑related environment.
• Ability to interview callers, capture accurate details, and document financial needs.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills for handling technical data.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, physicians, and staff regarding financial matters.
