Finance Specialist – Remote (Missouri)

About the role

H&R Block is seeking a Finance Specialist to support daily financial operations in a remote setting for its Missouri team. The role focuses on processing transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and handling client inquiries related to ACH deposits, loan products, prepaid accounts, and savings programs.

Key responsibilities

• Enter daily financial transactions and update account information in core accounting platforms.
• Process incoming ACH deposits, perform account maintenance, and clear exception items.
• Conduct daily general ledger balancing and routine account reconciliations.
• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve unmatched financial items and client inquiries.
• Draft and update standard operating procedures to improve workflow efficiency.
• Handle escalated customer service queries while maintaining strict confidentiality of client data.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for query execution.
• Understanding of general ledger accounting and ACH/banking regulations.
