Finance Controller

About the role

Neo Security is seeking a Finance Controller to lead the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of its accounting operations as the company scales. Based in Boston, MA, you will own the close process, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance while collaborating with senior leadership and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering GAAP‑compliant financial statements.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, revenue recognition, and general ledger.
• Design, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies for a fast‑growing SaaS business.
• Oversee ASC 606 revenue recognition for subscription contracts, partnering with Sales and Legal.
• Lead relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners, and drive the annual audit.
• Ensure timely federal, state, and sales/use tax compliance.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash‑flow management.
• Build and improve accounting systems, ERP, expense management, and billing processes.
• Support due‑diligence, board reporting, fundraising, and potential M&A activities.
• Recruit, manage, and develop the accounting team as it expands.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
• Experience in B2B SaaS or software companies with strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• CPA certification.
• Proven track record owning full close processes and producing accurate GAAP financial statements.
• Experience designing internal controls and supporting SOC 2 or similar audits.
• Hands‑on experience managing external audits and working with tax advisors.

Required skills

• Proficiency with modern ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage Intacct.
• Experience with billing and subscription management tools.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and GAAP.
